Fresh Force

1. Goals and Objectives

Fresh Force is a community service program throughout all secondary St. Paul Schools. All students are eligible to join. Meetings are held during school. Students are encouraged to volunteer in various ways in and out of school. Many opportunities are provided; group and individual.

2. Group Activities

  • Meetings - approximately every two weeks
  • Students participated in Make a Difference Day sponsored by the Volunteer Resource Center. They raked leaves at four home near our school on the east side of St. Paul.
  • Carried out a homeroom Thanksgiving Food Drive.
  • Made Christmas crafts and delivered them to a St. Paul nursing home. Adopted a family and raised money to buy Christmas gifts for them.
  • Baked cookies for Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Helped touring families around Cleveland for the Cleveland Showcase
  • Did after school baking for numerous events
  • Planning to carry out a neighborhood spring clean up by homeroom
  • Took pictures of students at the Halloween Dance as a fund raiser.
  • Participated in the Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service by attending the rally, marching in the parade and working at a shelter for homeless teenagers in north Minneapolis.
  • Coordinate the paper recycling bi-weekly at school
  • Prepared and performed a multi-cultural fashion show for the school dance
  • Planning to complete a Peace Quilt, which will be presented to a Cleveland family at the end of the year
  • Planning to attend the Fresh Force Recognition Celebration
  • Planning to make snacks for the 8th grade promotion dance

  • Babysitting
  • Tutoring
  • Helping with scout troops
  • Attending City-Wide Fresh Force meetings
  • Attending Youth Council meetings
  • Volunteering at the Science Museum
  • Volunteering at Regions Hospital
  • Attending Youth Service meetings at the Volunteer Resource Center
  • Doing yard work
  • Shoveling snow
