Farnsworth is proud to have a large and diverse ELL student
population. Our students speak many languages including Hmong,
Somali, Spanish, Cambodian, Karen, Oromo, Oromiffa, Tigriniya, Amharic, Khmer, Burmese, Laotian, Vietnamese, Bassa, Patois, Twi, and more!
ELL students are placed in one of four different levels depending on their English skills. They receive different amounts of service depending on their
level. Students in content area classes focus on learning content knowledge as well as English skills.
Level 1 - Communication Skills, Reading Development, Geography, Science, Transitional Math
Level 2 - Communication Skills, Reading and Composition, Social Studies, Science, Transitional Math
Level 3 - Reading and Writing, History, Transitional Science
Level 4 - Reading and Writing or Read 180 (8th grade)
